Giving The Gift of Good Reads

One of my favorite gifts to give for Christmas are good books. Books carry entire worlds within them and I think that books offer something far beyond the moment when we gift them. As a result, I love when there are book deals around Christmas time, so that I can buy a favorite or two to give away or a new book to personally enjoy. 

Amazon has a Black Friday deal right now where you can get $5 off a purchase of $20 or more. It's a great coupon for a new book or two. Below are some of my recommended reads. As well as some other book sellers that I recommend below.

• Women of the Word - helpful book on how to study the Bible with your heart and mind. See review. 
• Side by Side - loved reading this book with a friend on campus last semester. It gives encouragement and helpful ideas for relational ministry.
• ​A Praying Life - read this book in college, and my prayer life has never been the same ever since. If you've ever wanted to grow in communing with the Lord in prayer, this book is for you. 
• Love Walked Among Us - it's all about how Jesus loved people and how we're called to love people as Jesus loved. If you want to feel refreshed by the amazing love of Christ, this here is your pick. Review of the book. 
• 12 Ways Your Phone Is Changing You - just finished reading this pick, and it's probably one of the best books that I've read in 2017. Couldn't recommend it more highly. See a review here. 
• To the Golden Shore - a biography of the life of Adoniram Judson - the first American missionary. Reading it right now and it's so good!
• Redeeming Love - a fictional re-telling of the story of Hosea set in the 1850s American West. ​
